The Lane Cove Tennis Club is administered by a volunteer committee that meets once a month throughout the year. The committee is continually trying to improve all aspects of the club, always with the members’ best interests at heart. The committee encourages feedback that will help better serve the members of the club.

Garry Butler – President
The club is fortunate to have such a popular and respected man as Garry Butler. Garry has been a member for over 30 years and has held the president’s position since 1998. We are proud to have this man as the face of the Lane Cove Tennis Club. Despite his tendency to double fault at least twice every service game, he’s a good man to have at your side.

David Feather - Vice President
David has been a member of the Club for 36 years, over which time he has been a committee member, a regular competition and social player and organised many of the annual dinner dances with his wife Lyn who has also been a member of the Club for many years. David has 2 children Scott 22 and Julia 19, lives at West Pennant Hills and is a Senior Executive of the                                     Commonwealth Bank.


Jethro Goodchild – Treasurer
Meet the numbers man on the committee. Jethro has been a member since 1988 and does a fantastic job in advising the committee with its financial agenda. Throughout the history of the club, there have been many dedicated treasurers who have enabled Lane Cove Tennis Club to keep up with expensive undertakings such as court re-surfacing and club-house                                     improvements. We are thankful to have Jethro’s expertise in                                     this area. Do not give this man an overhead, consider yourself                                     warned!

Jamen Lewis – Club Secretary
Jamen is the man behind all of the communication between both prospective and current members. His friendly nature and good humour is an asset to the club which spreads throughout the membership base. Jamen has been with the club since 1994 and is one of our most talented players.


Pat Price – Competition Secretary
Having been a tennis coach since the age of 15 and currently, a qualified P.E teacher, Pat would have to be one of the most well-known members within the Lane Cove community. With his experience, Pat does an excellent job in organising teams to compete in tournaments and represent the club.


Pauline Thomas – Midweek Ladies Representative
Pauline represents the group of veteran ladies who congregate on Tuesday mornings for a social hit. Her presence on the committee allows the club to stay in touch with this portion of the wide range of people at Lane Cove Tennis Club. In doing this Pauline has enabled the committee to continually provide good service to this valuable group of members. Sorry gents,                                     she’s taken!

Peter Wallis – Committee Representative
Peter’s extensive business experience is a great asset to the committee. He has been a member of a the club since 1992 and has regularly represented the club in northern suburbs competitions. His crosscourt forehand is enough to upset any volleyers game!


Jeff Goodchild - Committee Representative
After spending 30 years at Roseville Park Tennis Club as a regular competition player, Jeff moved to greener pastures at Lane Cove and joined his son. Jeff now mixes competition with social tennis and is keen to see the club maintain and enhance its position.


Rob Widders - Committee Representative
Member for way less than 10 years and hence still under warranty. Enthusiastic battler in the lower comp. grades and social occasions, serial double faulter, might be better suited to croquet. New convenor of the annual golf day, which looks like going bi-annual due to overwhelming demand, despite the fearsome sledging before, during and after the round.
